Gunajit Brahma is an award winning serial entrepreneur (National Entrepreneurship Award,2016, MoSDE, Govt. of India) with over 10 years of professional experience in Bangalore and Mumbai, including 6 years as an entrepreneur in agri businesses and renewable energy. Gunajit is a dual Masters degree holder, with PGDM from IIM Indore (2010-12) and M.Sc. in Microbiology (2004-06) from Bangalore University. He started his professional career in Bangalore (2007) as an Analyst in the area of New Media with Empower Research Knowledge Services, a global Media Analytics startup by MIT Sloan & IIM B graduates. The company was eventually brought by Genpact in 2011. He also worked briefly with Blue Ocean Market Intelligence, a global research analytic firm, managed by Cross-Tab Marketing Services, a startup by IIM B graduate. Between 2008-2010, apart from his profession, he also volunteered with various NGOs and Youth organisations in Bangalore, namely, My World, My Choice!, Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN), & Art of Living Foundation. Jeev Anksh Eco Products (P) Ltd. is a DIPP registered startup, under Startup India, working in the organic agribusiness sector. The company provides forward market linkages to small and marginal organic farmers of Northeast region. The company is incubated at Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa, New Delhi & with Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR), Umiam, Meghalaya. The company has so far benefited over 5000 small and marginal tribal farmers of the region, and was instrumental in improving the income (upto 5 times) and providing sustainable livelihood to these farmer families. The company does contract farming with buy-back agreement with the organic farmers collectives (FPC/FPOs & Farmer Groups) associated with them. The company is fortunate to be working with three Krishi Ratna awardee farmers of the region. The company has won the first ever National Entrepreneurship Award (2016) , under SC/ST category for working towards the welfare of tribal people of India. The award was given by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, and was awarded by the Honourable Home Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh ji, and Skill Development Minister, Shri Rajeev Pratap Rudy ji on Jan 30, 2017 at New Delhi. The company was one of the 7 companies across India to be awarded with this prestigious award.
